New survey shows that on average people are less than 18 days away from the breadline. Rising prices and stagnant salaries are bringing us all closer to problems should we lose our main income.

In her own words: "I attended an open day looking for food bank volunteers. I thought why not, it would be great to give back to my community. I find it terribly sad that we even have to exist but super proud of the work we do. Most importantly the way the community always has our back. When we ask they always answer." 😊 Fun fact: "I love musicals 🎭 and have lost count of how many times I have watched Hamilton and Wicked 🤦🏿‍♀️"

I started helping out at fundraising events before joining the distribution team. I love helping people in our community and hopefully make their lives a little easier." 🥳 fun fact: "As a true Belgian I could eat my bodyweight in chips with mayo and waffles for dessert 🍟🧇"

In England, low-income families are struggling to afford school uniforms — with some parents skipping meals or turning to buy-now-pay-later services just to prepare for the school year. 💔 🧥 The average cost? ➡️ £340+ for primary ➡️ £450+ for secondary Yet only 1 in 5 councils in England offer any support. In contrast, families in Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland can claim £93–£200 per child through statutory clothing grants. 💸 Debt charity Money Wellness is calling on the UK Government to introduce the same support in England — because no child should miss out on education due to uniform costs.
